Is Shreveport Rehabilitation Hospital for You?

Admission for Patients with Medically Disabling Conditions:

We care for patients with complex medical conditions, either chronic or acute, in need of extensive rehabilitation when a medically disabling condition such as cardiovascular or pulmonary issues or cancer, impedes the activities of daily living.

Shreveport Rehabilitation Hospital can help:

  • If you suffer from pain, limited movement, bowel and bladder control, severe spasms or severe weight loss, extensive rehab therapy during exacerbations of chronic and acute conditions such as diabetes, multiple sclerosis, arthritis, pressure ulcers, and other autoimmune diseases can help.

  • For admission consideration to our inpatient rehabilitation hospital for you or a loved one, learn more and speak to an admissions specialist.

PATIENT SPOTLIGHT

Mr. Andre was admitted for medical and physical rehab to improve his mobility and cognitive ability, which had declined since his diagnosis of liver and colon cancer and the subsequent surgeries and chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

When he arrived at Shreveport Rehab Hospital, Mr. Andre couldn’t get out of bed and could barely life his head.  With the individualized plan of care by our medical rehab team of Physical & Medical Rehab Physician, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Rehab Nurses, Dietician and Case Management,

Mr. Andre gained great progress with intense rehabilitation in transitioning from his wheelchair to stand and perform exercises in our therapy gym as well as other activities of daily living.    He is a successful business owner and he loves cooking and being outdoors, which he will now be able to enjoy again.  He had wonderful comments about our rehab team and our hospital, and he and his wife are planning on going to Saint Martin in March and then on a cruise in May.

As he left our hospital in a much improved level of function, he gave us a tearful ‘see you later’.  Thanks for trusting us with your medical and physical rehab, Mr. Andre.
